Happy Boy!

What is this thing?!

This is Jack's first Christmas to actually be aware that there is a big tree in the house. Last year he was only 5 months. I was nervous for this year because I thought he would be into everything! But he has been great, he knows not to touch the tree, but just to look. We will see how long that lasts!

What a face!

Jack the Giraffe

Jack's first hair cut!

Jack got his first hair cut from his aunt Janny this last week. He started growing a rat's tail and we thought about taking him to Nascar this coming weekend because he would fit right in! We then thought otherwise and gave him a trim!

Pumpkin Patch

We took jack to the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin. He had so much fun running around amongst all the orange!

Uh Oh!

Jack received his first real boo boo. He fell and bumped his noggin-just the first of many I am sure!

Bad Blogger!

I have been a failure as a blogger to the few people who actually look at this! I do apologize and I will post some new pics soon!

Hungry Jack

I opened the fridge and turned around for a second. When I went to close the fridge this is what I found. Jack was trying to get something to eat!! What the picture doesn't show is Jack taking the coffee creamer and spilling it all over the floor. He then proceeded to lick it off the floor! It was so funny and he smelled like French Vanilla for a few days!

And he's off...

It's just a matter of time before our little man takes off. He loves pushing his toys around the house. He crashes into the furniture and walls all the time and then he will just look up at me like"Why are you just standing there-help me out lady!"

Hurricane Jack

I was in the laundry room for about 2 minutes while Jack was in the kitchen playing with some toys. Apparently, the toys weren't that fun because when I came back in the kitchen this is what I found. It doesn't take long for the destruction of Hurricane Jack!

Elmo loves Jack!

Jack's favorite thing right now is Elmo. He has an Elmo chair that giggles when you sit in it-it is the sweetest thing! Jack loves sitting in it and then he will turn around a kiss Elmo. It is so cute.

Little Red Wagon

Jack received a red wagon for his birthday. He just loves it. We love taking walks to the park in it. The trick though is trying to keep him seated. He always wants to ride standing up holding on to the handle like he is sailing a ship. I'm scared he might fall out and bust his head open. I guess that's the fear of every mother with little boys!!

No more bottles!!

Jack is officially done with bottles and formula!! I thought it was going to be so hard, weening him off of his bottle. I was excited about the formula because it is expensive and a hassle, but not the bottle. As you can see from his size, he LOVES his bottles. The doctor said he should be done by the 15 month, so I should start now. I asked the doctor "But what if he gets hungry though the night, what should I do?" He just looked at me and laughed and said "Jack weighs 28 lbs, he's not hungry!"
Our normal routine at night is bath, bottle, and then off to bed. So, the last few weeks I've been giving him milk in a bottle. Then I tried milk in a sippy cup (which he took to very well). Well, the last two nights, we have skipped the sippy cup entirely and he has gone straight to bed without a fuss, and slept through the night. I guess it wasn't him that was attached to the bottle, it was me!!

Growing up fast

Jack is on the move, scooting along the furniture and trying to climb up on everything! It won't be too long before he starts walking! It's amazing how much he has changed just within the last few weeks. He now babbles alot more, and sometimes will say words like "hi", "dad", "light", "bye-bye". He even mimics me when I laugh! He's a character!

Party Animal

Jack had his first birthday party at Nana and Pawpaw's pool on Saturday. He had so much fun, he kept trying to fall asleep the whole time. Jack loved the cake as you can see!! All the family was there to celebrate is first year of life. We were all exhausted the next day!!

He graduated!

Today, Jack graduated from swim lessons. We had such a good time and Jack loves the water. He learned how to kick his feet, blow bubbles, and scoop his hands. We are so proud!

Birthday Boy!

Jack turned 1 on Thursday! I can't believe it-this time last year, I was recovering from the c-section, Jack was in the NICU for his breathing problems, and now he ways 28 lbs.! What a difference a year makes! It went by so fast! For his birthday, we had a picnic after swim lessons and his party is on Saturday at Nana and Pawpaw's. It's a pool party! Happy Birthday, Jack, we love you so much!

Swim lessons

We started swim lessons today! Jack was so cute. Since it was the first day, we were just trying to let the kids get used to the water. Jack and I just tried to work on our tans! He is the youngest in his class, the rest are 1-2 years. He was so tired after class today, he came home, ate a big lunch, and slept for 3 hours. It was great! We had a really great time and can't wait until tomorrow!

Baby Einstein

Jack loves sitting in his big boy chair watching Baby Einstein. I love it too because that's when I get things done around the house!

Little Fish

We went swimming yesterday at Nana and Pawpaw's. He had such a good time, working on his tan! He would start kicking his legs as soon as he hit the water. He's going to be a little fish!
